Chief Executive Officer
Alexander Benard is Chief Executive Officer of Schulze Global. He previously was Managing Director of Gryphon Partners, an advisory and investment firm focused on the Middle East and Central Asia. Prior to joining Gryphon, Mr. Benard worked on cross-border mergers, acquisitions, and private equity transactions at Cleary Gottlieb. He has published articles on business strategy in frontier markets and other related topics in Foreign Affairs, World Affairs, Foreign Policy, the Wall Street Journal, and Forbes, among others. Mr. Benard holds a Bachelor's degree from Claremont McKenna College and a JD from Stanford Law School.
Chief Financial Officer
Gim Tan manages the firm's finance and accounting departments. He previously worked with Lafarge, a French-headquartered building materials group, in a variety of capacities, including CFO of Lafarge Indonesia and regional controller for India, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Japan. Before joining Lafarge, Mr. Tan worked with Seagate and with Ernst & Young. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Accountants of Singapore.
Chief Operating Officer
Isaiah Schulze is Chief Operating Officer at Schulze Global. Prior to joining Schulze Global, Mr. Schulze worked in Hong Kong for a US$1 billion cross-border private equity fund. He has also worked in Washington D.C. for an advisory firm focused on frontier markets. Mr. Schulze received his Bachelor's degree magna cum laude from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. He is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese and has achieved the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He is also a member of the Milken Institute's Young Leaders Circle.
Head of Asia
Ariunaa Batbold heads Schulze Global's activities in Asia. She has significant experience in international financial transactions in a variety of sectors including natural resources, food and beverage, technology, and consumer goods. She is the co-founder of Mongolia International Capital Corporation, Mongolia's first full-service investment bank, and has also worked as a Strategy Consultant with Bain & Company in the United States. Ms. Batbold holds a Bachelor's degree from Mongolian National University and a joint Master's in International Business from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University.
Head of Africa
Greg Metro is Head of Africa for Schulze Global. He has over 15 years of professional experience in private equity, investment banking, strategy consulting and operations. He worked as a senior investment professional with JP Morgan Private Capital Asia, a $750m private equity fund, where he covered Southeast Asia and China. Mr. Metro also has a background in management consulting, having worked with Monitor Group in the Philippines and Indonesia. He also co-founded and sold a venture capital funded financial technology startup. He holds a Bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from the University of Connecticut.
Head of Energy
Mikheil Nibladze is Head of Energy for Schulze Global. Mr. Nibladze has over a decade of experience working in various senior positions in finance and energy in the country of Georgia. He co-founded JSC TbilUniversalBank, a full-service Georgian banking institution for which he later served on the Supervisory Board. Mr. Nibladze later worked with Canargo Energy Corporation, one of the largest foreign energy companies in Georgia with a primary focus on oil and gas exploration. He served as Canargo’s country representative and as a member of the firm’s Management Committee. Mr. Nibladze holds an economics degree from the State University of Tbilisi. He also did further studies in finance and accounting at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Canada, and holds an Executive MBA from the CWC School of Energy in the United Kingdom.
